Kathmandu - Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended his best wishes on the occasion of Rishi Panchami. He said that this festival should not be taken merely as a religious ritual, but as a symbol of purity and values.

Delivering a message through social media, Prime Minister Oli mentioned that Rishi Panchami highlights respect for motherhood and the indispensability of women’s power.

He wrote on social media: “Today, along with the conclusion of the Teej festival, Rishi Panchami is also being observed. On this occasion, I extend my wishes for the continued good health and long life of all sisters.”

In Nepal, Rishi Panchami is observed every year on the fifth day of the bright fortnight of the month of Bhadra. Traditionally, women fast on this day and participate in religious rituals associated with purity and values.
