Kathmandu — On the final trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index again declined. Today, the NEPSE index dropped by 9.22 points, closing at 2,757.97 points. Earlier, on Wednesday, the index had fallen by 9.70 points, settling at 2,767.20 points.
A total of 31.9 million shares of 319 companies, worth approximately NPR 5.02 billion (5.02 अरब), were traded today. In comparison, Wednesday had seen the trading of 15.2 million shares, worth NPR 5.20 billion (5.20 अरब).
On this day, the Sensitive Index decreased by 0.69 points, the Float Index fell by 0.50 points, and the Sensitive Float Index declined by 0.21 points.
Among gainers, Vikas Hydropower hit the positive circuit, with its share price rising by NPR 32.10 per unit to close at NPR 353.40. Shares of Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. surged by NPR 80.19 per unit, ending at NPR 1,573.13.Similarly, Rasuwagadhi Hydropower gained NPR 8.95, closing at NPR 321.43 per unit, while Sanima Growth Fund rose by NPR 0.29, closing at NPR 10.84 per unit.
On the losing side, Jan Utthan Samudayik Laghubitta dropped by 4.65%, ending at NPR 1,263.36 per share. Sayapatri Hydropower Ltd. declined by 4.53%, closing at NPR 573, while Panchakanya Hydropower Ltd. fell by 3.08%, closing at NPR 396.08.
Today, the most heavily traded stocks were those of Nepal Reinsurance Company, Himalayan Reinsurance, Balephi Hydropower, and Butwal Power Company.
